Granstubben (from Gangstad Gårdsysteri) is a Norwegian cheese that literally translates to “The Spruce Stump.”

The cheese is tied up in spruce bark, and is eaten after being heated up in a wood stove, giving it a distinct taste that includes, you guessed it, tones of spruce. It is then heated with bilberry or cloudberry jam, toasts and cured meats.

Cheese is a Norwegian staple, part of our culture and heritage.
